One of the hotels best loved by the
locals is the Gold Coast Hotel and
Casino. For Las Vegas it is a rare thing when the hotel itself is not a very
noticeable entity. Nevertheless, the building is built tastefully, with
white facades and red brick. The pool landscaping, which contains a number
of waterfalls and a south sea bar, lies in the hotel gardens as if nestled
within it.
In the rooms guests are greeted once more by the typical southwestern style
of the US: large, sunny, light adobe walls, bedsheets and drapes in the
typical style.
The 700-room hotel is organized in very family friendly fashion and lies
about a mile from the Strip. Despite this, guests are never bored. The
gigantic bingo hall is, for example, always full of people.
In addition a wine store, four restaurants, five bars, two large casinos, a
bowling alley with 72 lanes, a country and western saloon and a lounge for
live music are part of the offerings at the Gold Coast.
The hotel restaurants offer international cuisine. At the all-you-can-eat
buffet are to be found, among other things, specialities from Mongolia,
China, Mexico and Italy.
