The first luxury hotel in Las Vegas was
the Golden Nugget. It counts among the
most luxurious hotels in the downtown core, lying a few miles from the
Strip. Built in 1946, the hotel rightfully earns the title luxury hotel, due
to its highly elegant appearance. This can be seen in its numerous
chandeliers, the facades adorned with white marble, gold edgings and white
canopies, the exquisite lobby and much more.
In the lobby the visitor can see the biggest "gold nugget" ever found. The
Hand of Faith is a gold chunk more than 61 pounds in weight found in
Australia in 1980 and valued at a worth in excess of $1 million.
The hotel, renovated and relaunched in 1987 by Steve Wynn is outfitted with
5 restaurants, several bars, a lounge, cafes, souvenir shops, boutiques and
a show theater. Worthy of mention also is the swimming pool with sun terrace
and waterslide. This waterslide leads through the shark aquarium know as "The
Tank".
Relaxation is to be had in the steam bath and in the whirlpool. In the spa
guests can enjoy massages and undergo beauty treatments. |
