The Sahara Hotel and Casino was one of
the first hotels on Las Vegas Boulevard and
lies on the northern part of the Strip. The hotel casino is preferred by
visitors who prefer peace and quiet. It was only recently completely
renovated and can now compete comfortably with the other large hotels on the
Strip. In 2000 the Café NASCAR was opened, from which departs the fastest
rollercoaster in Las Vegas, SPEED.
In addition the hotel offers 5 restaurants, a number of bars, stores, a
casino, and a show theater. A sun terrace surrounds the 5,000 square feet,
seasonally open outdoor pool with palms, fountains, whirlpool and a snack
bar.
The Moroccan style Sahara Hotel and Casino hosts 1,720 rooms, spread through
four buildings. Everywhere in the hotel one finds Moorish elements, such as
onion-shaped towers and precious jeweled lamps. The rooms are similarly
decked out in jewel-colored fabrics.
Among the gastronomical delights on offer are included buffets, a classic
steakhouse, a Mexican restaurant and two restaurants open round the clock.
Over the years stars such as Ann-Margret, Liza Minnelli and Tina Turner have
made appearances at the Sahara. |
